"All Hair Is Good Hair" is a workshop that empowers Textured haired girls ages 5+. Rooted in the Crown Act, the objective of this workshop is to empower girls with textured hair to feel confident wearing their natural hair or protective hair style in education and career space. This workshop consists of hair affirming exercises; using art to show the ways in which they love their hair and mirror work by speaking hair affirmations to themselves. They will also receive training on how to properly maintain their hair (shampoo, condition, moisturize, dentangle, and style) their textured hair. The young ladies will also be educated on the history of the Crown Act and texturism, in the educational and workspace and how to transcend indoctrination. These activities cultivate confidence which is essential to blosumming into productive women. If your child is confident, they’re also more likely to be assertive, positive, engaged, enthusiastic and persistent. (Confidence in pre-teens and teenagers 2021)
